One-of-a-Kind Experiences

Finca Mālama, located in the hills outside San Vito, is a blend of home, farm, and holistic and nature-based educational and wellness center.

Finca Mālama is first and foremost our home.  This means we live where we work, and we work to make our home a place where we and our guests can experience a lifestyle grounded in wellness and a comfortability within our bodies and minds.  As our guest, we share with you our accommodations and provisions.

Amongst the chaos of modern day life, we believe it is our right to have time to rejuvenate in a sanctuary.

We consider ourselves the stewards of this sanctuary and we invite you to come here to retreat and replenish your essence, so you may return back to your commitments refreshed.

Finca Mālama is located in the mountains at 2800 feet of elevation, on 7 hectares with private internal trails to the Rio Java.  Our facility offers a 30-foot bamboo open-air gathering space named The Sol. It is used for classes, game time, reading, dances, sound healing, yoga, fitness, etc.  It also has an herbal elixir bar and a Gung Fu style tea table.

As our guest, you are invited to partake in our daily rituals that we trust equate to a beautifully balanced life.

You are invited to come here and just be.  You may also consider visiting us to:

  • Cleanse

  • Grieve

  • Work on a creative project

  • Take a vow of silence

  • Nourish yourself

  • Thaw out from the cold

  • Commune with nature

  • Learn more about your body

  • Learn more about a holistic way of life

  • Receive insight into how some of your favorite foods are cultivated

  • Connect deeper with your partner or loved one

  • Re-strategize your life plan

While we are a space of wellness, we aren’t performing complicated procedures that only a qualified practitioner can offer you.  Our goal is to keep everything simple so that you can learn how to recreate much of what you learned here at your own home.  We have a philosophy of holistic health that doesn’t center around medications and contraptions, but more so clean eating, treating the body well, and select tools to get you on the right path.

Kind Words from Guests

“Finca Malama is a little slice of heaven on Earth!”

“Tiff + Colin tend to a bountiful farm, beautiful community and peaceful energy. Falling asleep to the jungle soundscape deep in nature and waking up every morning in the little A-frame was a total dream. The clean, flowing river on the property to hike down to and dive in was total bliss. The walks through the rural neighborhood were sweet with beautiful views. And the whole vibe was deeply healing, restful and restorative.

Tiff's nourishing cooking was not only delicious, but incredibly varied, and what a gift to eat mostly from the bounty of the land!  And the community of healers and bodyworkers around the farm was an unexpected blessing. Lots of love goes into everything at Finca Malama and that stewardship is an inspiration and gift.

While San Vito may be off the beat, a visit is an incredible opportunity to integrate deep into Southern Costa Rica's pristine beauty and local vibe. Lots of love,”

Amy

We offer small batch items from our farm like coffee, sugar, herbs, and teas

Our blog is a window into the deeper life of Finca Mālama and Tiffany & Colin who run it.

Some is personal, some is informative about how we carry out things here like grow coffee or combat ants, and some is from WorkAway volunteers we’ve hosted here. It’s a dynamic view behind the curtain.
